(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) — The Sea Pines Resort announces the new Plantation Golf Club and golf learning center at its Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean courses will open March 26.
The amenities of the 23,000-square-foot clubhouse include an expansive pro shop; new bar and grill named “Live Oak”; 2,000 square feet of event space; and spacious men’s and women’s locker rooms. Tim Cooke is the new Director of Golf Instruction for the premier facility. A public ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for April 4 (10 a.m.),

After this year’s RBC Heritage in April, The Sea Pines Resort will also begin construction on a new 19,000-square-foot Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse on the site of the existing structure. Slated for completion in spring of 2015, the facility will honor the RBC Heritage with a gallery showcasing the rich tournament history and display of past champions.
The legendary Lowcountry destination has also invested in multiple revitalization projects including its new Sea Pines Beach Club opening this summer. The two-story facility will provide year-round enjoyment for resort guests and property owners with a casual beachside restaurant; oceanfront bar; express concessions; retail shop; rooftop bar terrace; and special event space connected by outdoor decks, terraces and covered verandas.
Additional recent undertakings include the enhanced Champions Ballroom at the Harbour Town Conference Center; infinity edge pool and terrace at the Inn at Harbour Town; new fitness center; dredging of the Harbor Town Yacht Basin; and new cart paths as well as marsh restoration off the shore of the famed 18th hole of Harbour Town Golf Links.
