BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Delivering the power of graphite and the stability of steel, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf claimed first and second-place at the Kia Classic on the LPGA Tour this weekend and took more top money on the PGA Tour. The No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf have already chalked up three wins and more than a dozen Top 10 money positions in the 2014 season.
Playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in her irons, the Kia Classic champion shot a 5-under-67 in the final round to claim her fourth LPGA Tour victory. She moved up six positions in the Rolex Rankings to take the Top-10 spot. The Kia Classic runner-up had a SteelFiber hybrid shaft in the bag, giving SteelFiber first and second at the Carlsbad, Calif., event. Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour, SteelFiber shafts captured a T4 money position at the Texas Valero Open, and the payoff marked the third consecutive week that SteelFiber shafts have earned a win or Top Five money.
“The success of SteelFiber shafts has crossed over to all the top U.S. tours and more pros than ever before are enjoying SteelFibers’ unique performance benefits,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “With its innovative composite design, SteelFiber reduces the risk of injury, lessens aggravation of existing injuries and decreases the fatigue associated with swinging heavier, harsher steel shafts, while simultaneously delivering stability and increased distance. Just as steel shafts outperformed and eventually replaced hickory shafts, we are possibly witnessing the next revolution in iron shafts.”
In 2013, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour. In addition, players with SteelFiber shafts ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
