Leader in third-party private club management now operates 56 private clubs, including an industry high of 25 member-owned clubs
Scottsdale, Ariz. (April 2, 2014) – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing now manages more private clubs than any other third-party management company in the industry, after experiencing a surge of new agreements involving its private club division called Troon Privé.
Focusing solely on a third-party management solution, in contrast to ownership or lease agreements, Troon presents an appealing management model for clubs that wish to avoid entering lease agreements or transferring ownership to an operator. As a result, through its Troon Privé division that focuses exclusively on private club management, Troon also operates more “member-owned” private clubs than any other operator. The recent addition of Salina Country Club in Salina, Kan. brought the number of Troon’s member-owned clubs to a total of 25. Likewise, 86 percent of the company’s growth over the past year has involved management contracts with private clubs, positioning Troon as the largest third-party private club operator with a total of 56 private clubs under management.
“We are thrilled about the growth we’ve experienced in the Troon Privé portfolio and believe our third-party management approach is the ideal model to best serve the interests of private clubs,” stated Dana Garmany, chairman and CEO, Troon. “Compared to management companies that might reserve their best resources for the private clubs that they lease or own, Troon’s third-party management model eliminates these concerns. We believe this sets Troon apart in the industry and offers a better solution for private clubs that are considering a professional management company.”
Along with Salina Country Club, recent additions to the Troon Privé portfolio also include the member-owned clubs of Audubon Country Club in Naples, Fla. and Terravita Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Members of Audubon Country Club enjoy activities that include not only golf on its 18-hole Joe Lee designed golf course, but tennis, championship-level croquet, swimming and fitness as well. Terravita Golf Club offers residents a true escape with 18-holes of picturesque golf that creatively meander through the Sonoran Desert, making use of the area’s natural beauty on every hole.
Through the Troon Privé Privilege program, members at Troon Privé-managed clubs enjoy reciprocal play at more than 45 private clubs around the world. Members also receive preferred rates at more than 100 Troon Golf-managed daily fee and resort facilities through the Troon Privé Advantage program. The Troon Privé portfolio includes such private clubs of distinction as BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Fieldstone Golf Club in Greenville, Del.; Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, Calif.; St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.; Pronghorn in Bend, Ore.; and Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in London, England.
