The BERES S-03 wood represents new technologies in engineering for HONMA. The driver is comprised of 5-pieces. Honma S-03: high ball flight and spin rate. New Ti-5N material. Honma’s all-purpose driver – fit the correct ARMRQ8 shaft to the 460cc 5-piece head, and S-03 enables all golfers from beginners to the elite to perform at the limit of their ability. We maintained the strength of our head design, but made the head lightweight by reducing the thickness of the impact area by our manufacturing technique “forge-cast” mesh and rib structure. This technique maximizes the repulsion effect of the face. The back portions of the crown consist of the strong yet highly moldable 3AL-2.5V titanium and forged G4 titanium sole. We have stayed ahead of other manufacturers becoming the first to use the new material Ti-5N on the face, offering high strength and lightweight design. The center of the face incorporates a rhombus shaped thickness, by reducing the thickness on the surrounding area, it enlarges the sweet spot.
A full complement of fairway woods are available #3wd. (15°), #5wd. (18°), #7wd. (21°), featuring a mesh structure crown and forge-cast cup face made of high-strength custom steel while incorporating the ARMRQ8-49 gram shaft. The driver and fairway woods can be ordered with the ARMRQ8-45, 54, 62, 70 and 75 gram shafts by made to order only.
The ARMRQ eight-axis carbon is a Honma first, which restores itself at a higher rate, bringing a new level of carry performance for all golfers. The head quickly returns to the perfect position at impact. This design makes it easier to hug the ball for increased carry distance. Design feature of the shaft is comprised of combining eight carbon fibers, in diagonal directions at 30°, 45°, 60°, 120° and 150° in addition to vertical direction at 0° and horizontal direction at 90°, the eight-axis carbon shaft extends from the center of the shaft to the butt, controlling crushing, rigidity and minimizes energy-wasting deformation that can occur during the golf swing. The shaft regains its original shape with greater accuracy and brings the combination angles closer to a circle and enables the shaft to handle the force from all directions. The ARMRQ8 represents a further evolution of the structure, augmented with additional fibers at 45 degrees. While flex strength remains the same, up by just 0.9%, but torsional strength has been improved by 7.6% compared to the previous ARMRQ6 shaft.
