TaylorMade to bring state-of-the-art club building workshop to golfers in the southwest
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 8, 2014 – The JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, home of Camelback Golf Club and the new, award-winning Ambiente golf course, today became the first golf facility to host the one-of-a-kind TaylorMade Tuned Performance Studio. From April 9-20, golfers visiting the Southwest’s premier 36-hole golf destination can enjoy a tour-caliber club fitting experience, via an innovative mobile golf studio that features a fully appointed club-building workshop complete with state-of-the-art tools, fully-stocked product inventory and expert technicians, all crafted from two 20-foot shipping containers.
Showcased in January at the annual PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, the TaylorMade Tuned Performance Studio, which is fully outfitted with custom lighting, flooring and digital capabilities, provides a mobile driving range or hitting bay experience, while golfers have the opportunity to demo TaylorMade’s newest products and technologies with the expert assistance of a highly trained technician. They can also experience custom club fitting using the new Tuned Performance fitting applications, featuring TaylorMade R&D logic, while watching as their clubs are built onsite by a TaylorMade Technician.

The completion of the $10 million Ambiente golf course, which officially opened in January, culminated a seven-year, $70 million Marriott renewal project at Camelback Inn. Spanish for the word “environment,” Ambiente, which is designed with a detailed eco-friendly focus, is the first new golf course development project in the Phoenix-Scottsdale and Paradise Valley areas in over five years, and one of a select group of new courses to be built nationwide.
