(PRESCOTT, AZ) – The Prescott City Council (AZ) has approved a five-year agreement with Billy Casper Golf to manage Antelope Hills golf courses beginning May 1, 2014.
Billy Casper Golf will operate golf-related activities, including the pro shop, driving range, carts, cart barn and restaurant at the 36-hole facility, while the City will continue to be responsible for golf-course maintenance and capital improvements.
The public-private partnership with Billy Casper Golf is designed to bring a new approach to the management of Antelope Hills. The company will utilize its purchasing efficiencies, lower operating costs, marketing strength, and customer-service training to assure enjoyable guest experiences.
“This agreement will improve operations and the customer experience at Antelope Hills, and place it on a stronger financial base for years to come,” says Marlin Kuykendall, Mayor of the City of Prescott. “Billy Casper Golf has the experience, resources and expertise to ensure that Antelope Hills will continue to be a premier golf destination in Arizona.”
About Antelope Hills
The 18-hole, 6,844-yard, par 71 North Course at Antelope Hills was designed by Lawrence Hughes and opened in the late 1950s. The traditional, tree-lined course with small greens requires pinpoint accuracy, both off the tee and on approach shots to the small greens.
The South Course’s Par 72 18 holes measures 7,014 yards from the back tees and was designed by Gary Panks in 1992, featuring wide fairways, large greens and considerable mounding.
Both courses boast a scenic backdrop of the rugged rock formations of Granite Dells and the Bradshaw Mountains.
Antelope Hills has hosted many PGA and USGA events: U.S. Open Qualifying tournaments, Arizona State Junior Championships and the PGA Southwest Section Pro-Assistant Championship. The popular Arizona Golf Association’s annual Father-Son Championship has been played at Antelope Hills for more than 50 years.
The courses at Antelope Hills also host many corporate, charity, league and large and small group outings and tournaments.
Supplementing the two courses is the main clubhouse that features the full-service Manzanita Grille with seating on the clubhouse patio that looks out to the grass driving range and Bradshaw Mountains beyond.
Antelope Hills serves golfers and non-golfing groups with banquet services. The newly remodeled Centennial Center convenient to the North Course, hosts private meetings and special events, and is sought after for wedding receptions.
