NV VooDoo® victorious in Malaysia, Tour Blue helps Champions Tour winner notch debut victory
POWAY, Calif. – Playing Aldila’s Tour Blue in both of his hybrid clubs, the winner of the RBC Heritage picked up his first win of the season after holing out from the bunker on the final hole for an eventual one-stroke victory.
Aldila’s NV VooDoo® helped drive the Maybank Malaysian Open winner to his first victory in two years. Battling extreme weather conditions, he finished with an 18-under 270 (65-66-71-68) to win by a seven-strokes.
Benefitting from the exceptional feel and smooth, controlled release of Aldila’s Tour Blue shafts in his driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and 7 wood clubs, the winner of the Greater Gwinnett Championship won his Champions Tour debut by two strokes. He made 15 birdies and an eagle during the tournament en route to the win. He fired a final round 67 to finish with a 14-under-par 202 total and a first place check for $270,000.
The Tour Blue and Tour Green also helped Aldila continue to dominate the shaft manufacturer counts on the PGA Tour. “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” won the driver shaft manufacturer count by seven, the wood shaft manufacturer count by 32 and the hybrid shaft manufacturer count by 16, which was more than double the amount of hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey. Aldila also had the top two shaft brand models in each shaft category. Aldila’s Rogue and Tour Green 65 led the way in the driver shaft category, its Tour Blue 75 and Tour Blue 85 shaft models led the wood shaft category and its Tour Blue 85 and Tour Green 85 led the hybrid shaft brand models in play at the RBC Heritage.
“The Tour Blue/Green shafts are engineered with the latest materials and manufacturing technology and are designed to maximize the power of your individual golf swing,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “The constant taper shaft profile provides exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Both shafts are made with Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology™ (MLT). Combined with ultra-thin, ultra strong materials allows the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.”
Aldila (www.aldila.com) offers patented shaft design technologies that consistently outperform other shafts available. This technology advantage is the reason Aldila is the most popular graphite shaft on the PGA Tour. Tour professionals recognize Aldila’s advanced performance and year after year that there are more Aldila wood and hybrid shafts in play on Tour than any other shaft manufacturer. Whether the Micro Laminate Technology™ first introduced in Aldila NV™, the most popular graphite ever or today’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology, Aldila engineers are continually pushing and advancing high performance graphite golf shaft technology well beyond any other manufacturer.
