BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The No. 1 graphite iron shaft on all top U.S. Tours, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf deliver the power of graphite and the stability of steel to win the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. The victory marks the fourth win of the year for SteelFiber shafts.
Playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his Bridgestone irons, the RBC Heritage champion shot 66-73-70-64 (273) for the victory at the RBC Heritage. During the tournament, he scored No. 1 in greens in regulation (73.61%), and No. 1 in birdies (19). He is currently third in FedExCup rankings and fifth in overall world golf rankings. In the past five years, the RBC Heritage champion has been the most consistent player on the PGA TOUR and he has only missed two cuts in his last 63 starts.
In addition to the win, another SteelFiber player at the RBC landed a Top 10 money position (T9), while two players at the Greater Gwinnett Championship on the Champions Tour scored fourth and an eighth-place tie with SteelFiber shafts in their irons.
“We offer our sincere congratulations to this year’s RBC Heritage champion, who continues to demonstrate unparalleled consistency and perseverance,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “SteelFiber shafts are well-known for combining the power of graphite with the stability of steel. Unlike any other shaft in golf, the unique composite technology provides stability and shot consistency while it simultaneously reduces player fatigue and provides greater vibration dampening.”
SteelFiber shafts have already delivered four wins and nearly 20 Top 10 money positions in the 2014 season. In 2013, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour. In addition, players with SteelFiber shafts ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
