Owners Clark Peterson and Scott Miller are passionate professionals who are bringing Michigan golfers the very best that golf has to offer. Not just any academy, The Golf Performance Academy covers every aspect of the game.
The venue features 33 practice and fitting tees, short game and putting practice areas, indoor fitting studios, custom build center, repair shop and pro shop, all outfitted with the latest and greatest in launch monitors and analyzers.
Owner Clark Peterson has always played great golf. He was on his college team, played on the Champions Tour, and has continued to play competitively at regional and national PGA events, often setting course records on the way. He became a PGA member in 1992 and has studied under some of the greatest coaches in our industry and has mastered custom fitting. Over the years Clark has trained hundreds of students including many professionals and elite amateur golfers. His junior programs have produced over 25 collegiate golfers.
Co-owner Scott Miller is a Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist. Although shaft companies claim that the “shaft is the engine of the club” real pros know that the shaft is a tube and the human body is the engine. And as Scott says: “the better that engine is fine-tuned and primed, the better your game.”
Together Clark and Scott opened their Academy with a three prong program: lessons, custom club fitting and conditioning.
Clark not only teaches but handles the fitting as well. “You can’t teach around ill-fitting clubs” reports Clark, and I certainly learned early in my career that if I was going to play well, I better have the right tools. So I started fitting and building my own clubs from the very start of my career.” Recently Clark attended the KZG 3-Day Master Certification Program learning all of the latest techniques and technologies amassed from the leading fitters from around the world. He also felt the program invaluable in starting his partnership with KZG. Clark brought with him his own club technician Jerry Stenstrom who spent time honing his skills with the KZG build team.
