BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The No. 1 graphite iron shaft on all top U.S. Tours, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf cashed in on Top 10 money at the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA Tour and the Insperity Invitational on the Champions Tour this weekend.

On the Champions Tour, a 15-time PGA Tour champion played SteelFiber i110 graphite iron shafts to take second-place at the Insperity, while another player used the i110s in his irons, hybrid and wedges to claim a T9 finish. Meanwhile on the PGA Tour, SteelFiber i95 graphite iron shafts delivered the power of graphite and the stability of steel at the Wells Fargo Championship, scoring another T8 finish.

“We’re very excited with the growing popularity of SteelFiber shafts on all of the top U.S. Tours,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Historically, the typical design for steel iron shafts has basically remained unchanged for more than 80 years. However, SteelFiber composite technology is a game-changing innovation that provides a solid feel at impact while also giving a player the benefits of greater vibration dampening, reduced fatigue and increased clubhead speed.”

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.

During the 2013 season, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts also ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
