North Stonington, Conn., May 6, 2014 – Lake of Isles, one of the Northeast’s premier golf facilities, is celebrating 10 years. To kick off the special anniversary year, golfers will receive one dozen Callaway Speed Regime golf balls when they book an anniversary tee time in May on the award-wining North Course.
Lake of Isles, which is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, strives to provide the best experience for its members and guests. One of the biggest investments since opening has been the renovation of the greenside bunkers on both Rees Jones designed courses. The South course bunkers were renovated in 2012 and the North Course bunker renovations were just completed this year. The best amateurs in the northeast will test their skills on both courses this summer during one of the premier tournaments on the calendar, CSGA Men’s Amateur Golf Championship, June 16 – 20.
“In just ten short years, Lake of Isles has established itself as one of the best golf facilities in the country,” said Archie Cart, general manager, Lake of Isles. “Both courses are rated in the top 5 in the state and the North Course is ranked among the top 100 in Courses You Can Play Country. We take great pride in providing our members and guests with the ultimate experience from pristine course conditions, five-star service and amenities that are found only at Lake of Isles and Foxwoods.”
In addition to the bunker renovations, Lake of Isles has added GPS on all golf carts and is focusing on improved pace of play through its “Troon Values Your Time” program for the 2014 season. The Troon Golf Academy has added TrackMan, the leading swing and ball flight analysis system, to help golfers take their game to the next level.
“We strive to be the best in all areas of the operation,” Cart said. “We continuing to add technology and service initiatives to enhance our guest experience to keep them coming back.”
Over the past ten years, Lake of Isles garnered a number of the top industry accolades. The North Course has been ranked annually as the No. 1 public course in Connecticut by Golfweek magazine, Top 100 Public Courses by Golf magazine, among the top 5 public and private courses in the state by Golf Digest and the golf shop is ranked annually one of the top 100 Best of the Best Golf Shops in the country by Association of Merchandiser.
