Tuesday, May 6, 2014 – LPGA star and OMEGA brand ambassador Stacy Lewis entertained OMEGA clients, customers and guests Monday and Tuesday at two exclusive events on May 5 and 6.
On the evening of Monday, May 5, Lewis was the featured guest at a reception and photo signing held at the OMEGA Boutique – Plaza Frontenac (1701 S. Lindbergh Blvd, Space # 52, St. Louis).
On Tuesday, May 6 at 9 a.m., Lewis hosted an exclusive clinic at The Country Club of St. Albans for OMEGA guests and golf club members. Lewis shared her insight and knowledge on the golf swing and the game of golf. Guests were the invited to play a nine-hole shotgun-start tournament.
The events at the OMEGA Boutique – Plaza Frontenac and at The Country Club of St. Albans celebrated Lewis’ relationship with OMEGA as well as the brand’s role as Official Timekeeper of The PGA of America events and its support for the sport of golf in the U.S.
Lewis is currently the top-ranked American on the LPGA Tour, second-ranked player in the world and has already posted eight top-10 finishes in 2014, recording one victory and three second-place finishes.
Lewis is the winner of nine LPGA victories, including two majors. Her most recent win was this past weekend at the North Texas LPGA Shootout Presented by JTBC. In 2013, Lewis earned the Vare Trophy award for lowest scoring average for the season. In 2012, Lewis earned Player of the Year honors following a four-win season.
The 29-year-old, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, grew up near Houston, Texas. From the age of 11, Lewis wore a back brace 18 hours per day for 6 ½ years to correct curvature in her spine from scoliosis. She underwent surgery to insert a steel rod and five screws after her senior year of high school. After long months of rehab, Stacy went on to play college golf at the University of Arkansas where she won 12 times, including the NCAA individual championship. She graduated in 2008 with a degree in Finance and Accounting. In 2011, Stacy become the first athlete to win any major professional sports championship with a fused spine.
