NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (May 14, 2014) – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine is proud to announce its partnership with the Golf Academy of America (GAA), the largest and longest running golf academy in the world! The association is designed to help aspiring teaching professionals to gain the skills they’ll need to succeed in the industry and help grow the game.
A sure-fire way to support the future of the game is to ensure that new pros are versed in the art of custom clubfitting. KZG is committed to the advancement of golf education and was thrilled recently to host eight hand-selected candidates from the GAA Phoenix campus. During their stay, the students completed the KZG 3 Day Master Certification Program for ClubFitters and were all certified on May 1st.
The attendees of the Program covered every aspect of fitting with KZG’s Director of Instruction Matt Mora, including: (1) Fitting Variables such as clubhead design/specifications (loft, lie, face angle, etc.), shaft profile, club length, etc. and how they affect ball flight, (2) Pre-fitting Interview & Club Analysis, (3) Static v. Dynamic Fitting; (4) understanding product potential to create effective demos; (5) how to properly educate the player about club dynamics; (6) Launch monitor data assessment, and (8) conducting hands on practice fittings.
Time was also spent in KZG’s build department with Master Builder Audiel Guzman; attendees were shown the intricacies of a true custom build including weight sorting, spine aligning, frequency matching and MOI matching.
The level of expertise of the GAA group of attendees was quite extraordinary. So many golf academies offer just a few days to teach what they call “custom fitting”, but at best would be described as repairs. The GAA offers a full course on actual fitting and building of custom clubs.
It is truly a black eye for the industry that 9 out of every 10 golfers are still playing ill-fitting clubs. Coaches and teachers are unanimous: you can’t teach around ill-fitting clubs. Yet there seem to be a whole lot of lessons going on!
The GAA is training our golf instructors and coaches of the future. Tim Eberlein, GAA Phoenix Campus Director, is a PGA Master Professional and Master Club Fitter. For the last 20 years he has been an educator and mentor, inspiring young men and women about teaching and fitting with integrity.
“I have found a soul-mate in Tim,” reports Jennifer King, President of KZG. “KZG has spent the last 20 years raising the bar for clubfitting and trying to educate the public on where to go and what to expect from a true fitting. There are so few qualified fitters in the world, and finding Tim who is dedicated to training the young golf professionals of the future has been a god-send. We look forward to working with the GAA, its students and graduates.”
The GAA is already planning on sending more students and graduates to the KZG 3 Day Master Certification Program for Clubfitters. Together, the GAA and KZG plan on growing the game from the ground up! Better clubs, better lessons, happier golfers, more play.
