Seminars to be held in May and June in United Kingdom, Italy
NORCROSS, Ga. – U.S. Kids Golf is set to host its first Certified Coach Seminars in Europe, giving teaching professionals a chance to learn from some of the leaders and experts in youth golf coaching. Seminars in the United Kingdom are scheduled for May 30 at Craigielaw Golf Club in East Lothian, and June 2 at Wexham Park Golf Centre in Buckinghamshire, and registration is open for both. The sold-out Seminar in Italy is scheduled for May 23 at Golf Della Montecchia in Padova.
The U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach program is led by John Godwin, PGA Master Professional and 2004 PGA of America National Junior Golf Leader, and John Bryan, Vice President of U.S. Kids Golf Foundation and former Executive Director of the Georgia PGA. During the seminars, Bryan and Godwin focus on best practices that help develop junior golfers, such as an introduction to game-based teaching, the importance of properly fitted equipment, and how to scale the game for the beginning golfer.
“These seminars align with the U.S. Kids Golf mission to help kids have fun playing golf across the world, and we are looking forward to hosting these Seminars and sharing our research, information and best practices with professionals in Europe,” Bryan said.
The Seminar at Craigielaw Golf Club coincides with the U.S. Kids Golf European Championship, which annually features more than 500 boys and girls, ages 5-18, during three days of stroke play competition (May 27-29).
PGA Professionals will be credited with 25 CPD points by The PGA for successful completion/participation of this course, as part of the PGA’s Member Education Program. Since March 2012, more than 1,300 PGA and LPGA professionals have participated in a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructor Seminar.
