(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) and its Buffalo Communications (Buffalo) division have contributed to 27 courses earning top rankings on the recently-released Golfweek 2014 “Best Courses You Can Play” state-by-state list.
Owner and operator of more than 170 golf courses, country clubs and resorts nationwide, BCG-managed Wintonbury Hills Golf Course ranks No. 2 in Connecticut while Lederach Golf Club comes in No. 10 in Pennsylvania. Perennial favorites Mauna Kea Golf Club and Royal Ka’anapali Golf Courses rank No. 5 and 14, respectively, in Hawaii.
Buffalo manages PR for dozens of golf properties directly and others through tourism agencies and golf cooperatives. Top finishers on the Golfweek list include Harbour Town Golf Links (No. 2), Heron Point by Pete Dye (No. 13) in South Carolina; the Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club (No. 2) in Hawaii; Circling Raven Golf Club (No. 3) in Idaho; Salish Cliffs Golf Club (No. 3) in Washington; Pound Ridge Golf Club (No. 4) in New York; Old American Golf Club (No. 6) in Texas; The Champions Course at PGA National (No. 11) in Florida; and Saddle Creek Resort (No. 12) in California.
Several other courses which partner with BCG-Buffalo rank among the top 10 in their respective states.
“Making the Golfweek ‘Best Courses You Can Play’ rankings is a huge honor for Billy Casper Golf,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “It speaks volumes about our talented teams consistently providing exceptional course conditions and overall guest experiences.”
The state-by-state rankings – tallied by hundreds of Golfweek raters – takes into account the overall strength of routing, feature shaping, natural settings, greens, the variety and remarkable nature of holes, conditioning and maintenance, landscape management and other criteria.
“Golfweek raters take their jobs very seriously,” says Rich Katz, Managing Director of Buffalo. “Being featured on the list shows course owners should explore partnering with Billy Casper Golf as well as leveraging Buffalo’s strong media relationships.”
