BOULDER, Colo. (May 27, 2014) – The 2014 Crowne Plaza Invitational winner clinched his first PGA Tour victory of the season with KBS TOUR 130g (X flex) shafts in his irons and wedges. The 33 year-old Australian won in comeback fashion and retained his No. 1 OWGR position.
Playing KBS since 2009, the worlds-best golfer is the first to claim the “Texas Slam”- winning the 2007 Shell Houston Open, 2008 HP Byron Nelson, 2010 Valero Texas Open, and this year’s Crowne Plaza Invitational.
“In his first week as the new No. 1 player in the world, it’s impressive to see him seal his ranking with a win,” said Kim Braly, director of research and development and Tour operations at KBS. “He has such a dynamic game, which ultimately resulted in a well-deserved victory.”
The Crowne Plaza Invitational marks his 11th career win and moves him to No. 14 in FedEx Cup rankings.
