CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 25, 2014) – Nippon Shaft recorded its latest LPGA victory Sunday (May 25) thanks to the brilliant play of a 21-year-old Floridian, who birdied four of her last five holes to grab a one-stroke victory at the Airbus LPGA Classic in Mobile, Ala.
It was the second victory of the year and the third career win for the second-year pro from Bradenton, who used N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 S flex steel shafts in her irons and wedges.
“Nippon Shaft is honored that one of America’s up-and-coming young players utilized Nippon Shaft products in her irons and wedges enroute to her second LPGA victory of the season,” said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for the Japanese club maker. “We congratulate her on her play, especially on the back nine, where she shot 30 and won the tournament.”
The winner shot a total of 20-under par 268 for the week on rounds of 67-67-69-65 and earned $195,000 for her victory. The tournament was played on The Crossings course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Magnolia Grove complex.
