On the European Tour, the Nordea Masters Champion turned heads with a neon yellow Fujikura Precursor Shiro 65 shaft in his driver. The Precursor is the name of Fujikura’s prototype shaft that is being tested on Tour for a possible debut later this year or early next. It is rumored to be an evolution of the current leading shaft brand on Tour, the Motore Speeder.
On the LPGA Tour, the winner of the Shoprite LPGA Classic used a Fujikura in her Mizuno MP 15 degree 3 wood and Mizuno JPX 19 degree hybrid. Also, the driving accuracy leader played Fujikura’s NEW Motore Speeder 569. Fujikura’s Tour Representative for the LPGA said, “It is great to see the results of a custom fitting we do here at the studio translate into real results and wins. She came into the Fit-On Studio here at Fujikura at the beginning of the season to fine tune her equipment and now she is leading the driving accuracy category on the LPGA Tour.”
Other interesting stats from LPGATour.com include:
• World number 1 ranked player uses Fujikura.
• Fujikura is leading both the driving accuracy and distance category on the LPGA Tour.
The winner on the Champions Tour also used a Fujikura Speeder 904 in his Titleist 913 H 17 and 21 degree hybrids.
