(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – Hilton Head Golf Island (HHGI) – a collection of 28 of the Lowcountry’s premier golf courses – announces a selection of family and junior golf programs available through the summer.
Family golf is a fun, recreational activity that provides a structured, yet casual, opportunity for families to learn the game and spend uninterrupted time outdoors together. July is “Family Golf Month” for the PGA of America and HHGI’s championship courses are participating with a variety of offers that encourage everyone to get involved.
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort
“Fun, Friends and Fresh Air” junior clinic Monday – Thursday 10 – 10:50 a.m. and 4 – 4:50 p.m. covers three shots daily, etiquette and rules (ages 6 – 18). Available June – August, $25 per person.
“Little Swingers” and “Little Swingers 2” allow children ages 3 – 7 to learn the fundamentals of golf while singing songs. Offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 5 – 6 p.m. seasonally by appointment, $25 per person.
“Advanced Junior Classes” include a supervised warm-up followed by a round with a professional (ages 8 – 12, intermediate skill level). By appointment only, $90 per person.
“Family Golf Class” provides one-hour of learning at the practice facility and one-hour on the course. Includes all equipment and videos and photos. By appointment, 5 – 7 p.m.
“Complimentary Class and Exhibition” Mondays 4 – 5 p.m. on the Robert Trent Jones driving range. Hands-on interactive, educational and entertaining.

The Sea Pines Resort
“Future Stars” program provides an introduction to golf with an emphasis on safety, etiquette, rules, and fun (ages 4 – 12). Six clinics per week during the summer, $40 per person per day. Offered Monday – Saturday from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. by reservation.
“Junior Golf Camps Presented by Cobra Puma” at The Golf Learning Center at the new Plantation Golf Club are five-day camps from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. offered July – August for $1,650 per person. The sessions feature a four-to-one student-to-instructor ratio led by Director of Golf Instruction Tim Cooke.
“Daily Clinics” weekdays 9 – 10 a.m. and 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. for $40. Juniors welcome to attend.
