Tour Blue is #1 in driving distance; helps Aldila win wood shaft manufacturer count at Pinehurst
POWAY, Calif. – Rogue, Aldila’s latest shaft offering made from very exotic high-performance materials, was the #1 driver shaft brand model, the most accurate shaft, and helped Aldila capture the wood shaft manufacturer count at the U.S. Open, according to the Darrell Survey.
When play had begun at Pinehurst No. 2, there were twice as many Rogue shafts in play than the next leading driver shaft brand model. That marked the 10th week in a row and 20th time this season that the Rogue has been the #1 driver shaft brand model on Tour. Rogue has been instrumental in Aldila winning the driver shaft manufacturer count at 21 of 31 PGA Tour events, and the wood shaft manufacturer count at 29 of 31 tournaments this year.
“The Rogue is built on Aldila’s ultra-successful new “Tour” platform using the same tapered tooling and Nex Gen Micro-Laminate Technology™ that provide the exceptional performance of the #1 shaft model on Tour – Aldila’s Tour Green and Tour Blue,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “Aldila’s Nex Generation Micro Laminate Technology is comprised of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials. This design evolution eliminates inconsistent shaft performance caused by material variability. Redesigned tooling also raises the shaft balance point, making this the perfect upgrade for today’s modern club head designs.”
The most accurate driver at the U.S. Open benefitted from Aldila’s Rogue shaft in his driver and 3 wood finishing the tournament with a driving accuracy percentage of 87.50. The driving distance leader for the season’s second major championship played Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft in his driver and 3 wood and finished with driving average of 318.8 yards.
“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” also won the wood shaft manufacturer count at the U.S. Open making it back-to-back wood shaft count wins at major championships this season. Aldila also captured the wood shaft manufacturer count and the hybrid shaft manufacturer count at Augusta earlier this year, according to the Darrell Survey.
Aldila is releasing limited edition “tour authentic” models of its Rogue shaft commemorating the Rogue’s one-year anniversary on the tour. The limited edition Rogue shafts are made with the same extremely exotic, high-performance materials as the Tour version. Each shaft will be made in the USA at Aldila’s Research & Development facility in Poway and will be serialized with laser customization available to personalize each shaft. The limited edition Rogue shafts will be available through select distributors with a suggested retail price of $799.
Aldila (www.aldila.com) offers patented shaft design technologies that consistently outperform other shafts available. This technology advantage is the reason Aldila is the most popular graphite shaft on the PGA Tour. Tour professionals recognize Aldila’s advanced performance and year after year that there are more Aldila wood and hybrid shafts in play on Tour than any other shaft manufacturer. Whether the Micro Laminate Technology™ first introduced in Aldila NV™, the most popular graphite ever or today’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology, Aldila engineers are continually pushing and advancing high performance graphite golf shaft technology well beyond any other manufacturer.
