Orlando, Fla. – June 24-26 will be a busy week of junior competition at Reunion Resort in Orlando, FL. The North Florida PGA will host 3 events in 3 days! Competitions will begin with the Drive Chip and Putt local qualifier on Tuesday, June 24. 200 kids will attempt to drive, chip and putt their way to the finals at The Masters at Augusta National on the Sunday prior to The Masters! Finalists from the local qualifiers will take the next step to achieving their dreams of competing at Augusta National in 2015. The Drive Chip and Putt competition is supported by the Augusta National, the USGA and the PGA of America. The faces and anticipation of those who compete are worth the effort. The Drive Chip and Putt local qualifier will be held on the Nicklaus Course range at Reunion Resort. It will begin at 8:00 am.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday June 25 and 26 the North Florida PGA Junior Championship will be contested on Reunion’s Watson Course. Over 150 juniors will compete within their age divisions for their prospective titles. The medalist boy and girl will advance to the prestigious national 39th Junior PGA Championship in Texas on July 29 – August 1. The North Florida PGA Junior Championship is one of the largest in the state of Florida. The best juniors in the North Florida Section of the PGA will test their skills against their peers and have some fun along the way. Tee times will begin at 7:00 am and the players will be on the course throughout the entire day.
The little ones 10-under will not be left out either! Little Linksters will host the North Florida PGA Pee Wee Championship as well. They will play the Nicklaus Course on Wednesday, June 25. These aspiring young players will have some fun competing on a course with yardages especially for them. They will be up early, as will be their parents. They start at 7:30 am.
