Innovative game and shot tracking platform GameGolf.com, introduces tee and approach shot dispersion feature for on course analysis
SAN FRANCISCO – (June 24, 2014) – GAME GOLF, the first wearable device that automatically tracks a golfer’s round of golf and graphically displays the round along with valuable statistics, announced today an upgrade to their mobile app and web-based platform that will allow golfers to view their tee and approach shot performance separately. As the creators of the on-course shot tracking technology category, GAME GOLF’s new Shot Performance Analysis feature is a result of listening to the tens of thousands of golfers actively engaged on the GAMEGOLF.com platform.
As part of the ongoing development of advanced analytics, GAME GOLF’s new Shot Performance Analysis feature will help aspiring golfers find improvement opportunities that lower scores with new tools:
Tee Shot Dispersion: Visualizing tee shot accuracy and shot tendencies. Evaluate every shot from every round or a single round.
Approach Shot Dispersion: Visualizing approach shot accuracy, displayed relative to the target, reveals shot tendencies on approach in percentages and yardage. Data is presented from individual rounds and specific courses, or shots aggregated over all rounds.
“The new Shot Performance Analysis feature was implemented based on feedback we received from users all around the world. The new viewing option helps the golfer narrow in on his or her shot performance to help identify where they need to work on their game,” said John McGuire, GAME GOLF CEO. “The feedback and data we collect from our golfers is extremely valuable. We have a roadmap for new software products and solutions that will grow the GAME GOLF platform and lead the way in game and shot tracking technology.”
GAME GOLF, which consists of a small, light weight device worn on the player’s belt and individual sensor tags that attach to the top of the grip on each club, records every shot played during a round of golf using GPS and motion sensing technology. By simply tapping the GAME GOLF sensor tag to the device worn on the waist, the GAME GOLF device automatically records the course, location on the hole, club used and club distance and now accuracy. After the round, the golfer simply uploads the data via computer to GAMEGOLF.com for review of every shot of every round, which can also be viewed via a mobile app or web platform.
GAME GOLF does not provide real-time club distances and data, and information cannot be viewed on a player’s mobile device during their round. As a result, The R&A and U.S.’ governing body has ruled that it is “Permitted under The Rules of Golf” and can be used in competition.
GAME GOLF attracts golfers who want to improve by using technology that allows them to learn the true distances and accuracy of each of their clubs. Gathering performance data that displays stats like fairways hit, greens in regulation, number of putts and now shot performance can help golfers understand the strengths and weaknesses of their game. In addition, GAME GOLF is a fun, interactive, social system that can connect golfers in any geographic locations to compete and share their round.
GAME GOLF has strategic partnerships with the most influential entities in the golf world, including The PGA of America and Golf Channel. In addition, PGA Tour professionals working with GAME GOLF to develop the product are 2010 U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell, 2003 U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, and Lee Westwood. McDowell has been testing and providing feedback on the product for the last two years.
GAME GOLF is currently available in golf specialty stores, online at www.GAMEGOLF.com and exclusively at Apple retail stores in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland, with plans to continue growth across the globe. Retail Price is $249.
