BOULDER, Colo. (June 30, 2014) — The Quicken Loans National champion picked up his first win of the season playing the KBS C-TAPER 125g (S+ flex) shafts in his irons. He sealed the victory in playoff fashion and is only the second two-time winner of this event. This weekend moves him into the No. 12 spot on FedEx Cup rankings.
“He has consistently performed at the highest level with the C-TAPER in his irons,” said Rob Cheng, CEO of KBS Golf Shafts. “His performance at Congressional provides a perfect segue into the Open Championship.”
This player has compiled a total of four first place finishes- including the 2013 US Open- since moving into the C-TAPER in 2011. After switching into KBS, he improved from No. 18 on the OWGR scale to No. 4 in one year.
The KBS C-TAPER shaft produces a lower flight and spin rate while maintaining the benefits of a piercing trajectory and smooth feel. Independent testing of the C-TAPER resulted in 5%lower trajectory, 5% less spin and 5% more distance.
