CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 14, 2014) – The winner of the Ricoh Women’s British Open used the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO 750GH R flex steel shafts in her irons and N.S. PRO 850GH R flex steel shafts in her wedges en route to victory at Royal Birkdale.

The runner up and five other players who finished tied for ninth or better also used Nippon Shaft steel shafts in their irons. Two of them, including the runner up, used the N.S. PRO MODUS” Tour 120 shafts; three used N.S. PRO 950GH shafts, and one used the N.S. PRO 850GH.

Nippon Shaft also continued to build positive momentum on the PGA TOUR, where 10 top 25 finishers, including three among the top 10, used Nippon Shaft in their irons. The three top 10 finishers all posted four rounds in the 60s.

Among the 10 PGA TOUR players, three used the N.S. PRO PROTO 980 ST shaft, which is not yet in full production; two used the N.S. PRO MODUS” Tour 120 shafts; two used the N.S. PRO MODUS” Tour 130 shafts, and one used the N.S. PRO 950GH shafts. All are steel shafts and were used in irons.

More than 20 players in the John Deere field utilized Nippon Shaft in their irons.
