(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – BirdieBox – a monthly subscription service providing curated golf gear for personal use, as well as corporate outings and other events – confirms hundreds of the company’s limited-edition “Bubba Box” were sold over a three-week campaign leading up to Father’s Day, raising nearly $10,000 for The Bubba Watson Foundation.
A collaboration with the two-time Masters champion and leading online retail service Fancy, the package featured an assortment of items hand-selected by Watson. Its reception amongst consumers was matched by overwhelmingly positive editorial coverage reaching a potential total audience of more than 200 million. This included placements in Golf Digest, MensHealth.com, Chicago Tribune, US Weekly and many more.
Support for the “Bubba Box” was furthered by a strategic social media campaign – featuring product videos, tweets and postings – driven through @BirdieBox, @Fancy and @BubbaWatson.
Watson donated 100% of his proceeds to his namesake foundation, The Bubba Watson Foundation, which he founded earlier this year with his wife, Angie. The charity’s mission is to enhance the everyday lives of people in need, with a special emphasis on helping and inspiring children, young adults and those associated with the U.S. Military.
“This was an amazing opportunity to put some smiles on the faces of dads across the country while continuing my mission of giving back to those in need,” says Watson. “With the great mix of products from my sponsors, the buzz generated and the money we raised, it was a huge win all around.”
Offered through BirdieBox.com and Fancy.com, packages boasted a total value nearly double the retail cost. Included were a PING Bubba Visor (BirdieBox global exclusive), Oakley Short Sleeve Greene polo, sleeve of Titleist ProV1 logo balls, KENTWOOL USA Performance Socks, special Bubba headcover from Daphne’s and free one-month BirdieBox subscription.
“Bubba’s passion really shone through in all the work he put into making this initiative such a success,” adds Pat DePirro, CEO of BirdieBox. “Whether it’s golf, family or helping others through The Bubba Watson Foundation, he sets the bar high and truly lives up to those lofty standards.”
