ANAHEIM, CA. – July 30, 2014 – The First Tee of Orange County, CA., a non-profit organization formed to impact the young people of Orange County, is pleased to announce it will be holding its second annual First Tee of Orange County Pro-Am Golf Tournament sponsored by Roger Dunn Golf Shops at Tustin Ranch Golf Course on Friday, September 5, 2014.

According to The First Tee of Orange County Vice President Al Morris, “We are proud of our Orange County chapter as it continues to grow and reach the children of the community. This Pro-Am is our major fundraiser and its success will fund many of our upcoming initiatives. We encourage golfers to invite their professional to play with them or visa-versa. There is also a significant purse of $10,000 for the Pros.”

The First Tee of Orange County Pro-Am sponsored by Roger Dunn Golf Shop begins with a shotgun start of 12:00pm. The Professionals will play in a stroke play format with a double bogey maximum on any hole. The format for amateurs will be a scramble. After tournament play, golfers will enjoy a cocktail reception, silent auction, and dinner. The individual amateur entrance fee is $400.00 which includes golf, gift bag, lunch, fully catered dinner and other special on-course and off-course surprises throughout the day. To register, please visit www.firstteeoc.org.

“This event should be memorable as golfers from The First Tee will participate. They will help with tending pins, acting as a fore caddy and more. People who have supported our charity will see the benefits of this program firsthand,” added Morris.

The First Tee of Orange County impacts the young people in the Orange County community through its life skills education and character training. Each of these participants will be introduced to the lifelong sport of golf while learning skills such as goal-setting, managing emotions and resolving conflicts.

The program emphasizes Nine Core Values™ (confidence, responsibility, respect, honesty, judgment, perseverance, sportsmanship, integrity, and courtesy) at every level of instruction.
