Game Golf’s Android and iOS free app and web-based platform allow all fans to view Furyk’s and Westwood’s game performance at Firestone Country Club
SAN FRANCISCO – (July 30, 2014) – In preparation for The Bridgestone Invitational, 2003 U.S. Open Champion Jim Furyk and PGA Tour star Lee Westwood track Tuesday’s practice round at Firestone Country Club by using GAME GOLF, the first wearable shot-tracking device that automatically tracks and displays a golfer’s round and statistics. The two were able to use the device, as GAME GOLF was recently sanctioned by both governing bodies of golf and therefore “permitted under the rules of golf.”
GAME GOLF’s web-based platform and free mobile app, compatible on Android and iOS devices, allow fans to login, view and track each of the players’ rounds, even if the fan doesn’t own a GAME GOLF device.
“I enjoy using GAME GOLF as a means for connecting with fans and allowing them to view my game,” said Furyk. “The stats and data are valuable for me, specifically as it relates to course management, but I can also see how it’d be valuable for average golfers to see how a pro plays a specific course, hole or even shot.”
“GAME GOLF is the perfect tool for any level golfer to get valuable insight on game and shot performance, said Westwood. “Being a professional on the PGA Tour gives us access to Tour Caddies and ShotLink. The PGA Professional and amateur have never had access to their data until GAME GOLF.”
Overall stats revealed by GAME GOLF around Furyk’s and Westwood’s practice round were as follows:
Furyk (Back 9):
• Score: 33 (-2)

GAME GOLF, which consists of a small, light weight device worn on the player’s belt and individual sensor tags that attach to the top of the grip on each club, records every shot played during a round of golf using GPS and motion sensing technology. By simply tapping the GAME GOLF sensor tag to the device worn on the waist, the GAME GOLF device automatically records the course, location on the hole, club used and club distance. After the round, the golfer simply uploads the data via computer to GAMEGOLF.com for post-round analysis, which can also be viewed via a mobile app or web platform.
GAME GOLF has strategic partnerships with the most influential entities in the golf world, including The PGA of America, British PGA and Golf Channel. Furyk and Westwood have been working with GAME GOLF to develop the product along with 2010 U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell. McDowell has been testing and providing feedback on the product for the last two years.
GAME GOLF is currently available in golf specialty stores, online at www.GAMEGOLF.com and at Apple retail stores in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland, with plans to continue growth across the globe. The GAME GOLF app is available for iOS and Android for free. Retail Price is $249.
