An exciting week in Akron, Ohio for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational meant plenty of Fujikura at the top of the leaderboard. In fact, of the top 10 finishers, 7 were using Fujikura shafts.
On his way to his 2nd victory in four weeks, the winner used two Fujikura Rombax P95 shafts in his 3 and 5 wood. Not far behind, the third place finisher used a Fujikura Motore Speeder VC 9.2 shaft in his 5 wood to secure his sixth top-10 this year. At the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada, two of the top three finishers used Fujikura shafts.
The Darrell Survey reported that there were more Fujikura shafts in play in all the three major categories, Driver, Woods, Hybrids, than any other shaft brand.
Fujikura’s Speeder shaft continues to dominate on Tour and in the custom shaft aftermarket. There was even a sneak preview of the Fujikura Japan 2015 Speeder, as some of the Japanese players were playing a never seen before blue Speeder with the word “Evolution” on it. It is rumored that this is linked to the highlighter yellow prototype shaft that has been catching the eyes of television viewers and media photographers.
