Tour Blue and Tour Green help Aldila sweep shaft manufacturer counts on PGA Tour

POWAY, Calif. – With the help of Aldila’s Rogue shaft in his driver and 3 wood, the winner of the Barracuda Championship posted his first victory on Tour since 2010. He finished tied for 11th in Driving Accuracy with an 82.14 percent. His longest drive of the tournament was 378 yards during the second round followed by 375 yards in the third round. He switched to the Rogue shaft in his driver in May and installed it in his 3 Wood in June. The victory marked the sixth tour win of the year for Aldila’s Rogue.

With 24 Rogue shafts and a combined total of 67 Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts in play, Aldila won the driver, wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Barracuda Championship. Aldila had four more driver shafts, 36 more wood shafts and 15 more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor, according to the Darrell Survey. There were 20 more Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts in play at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational bringing the total to 87 shafts in play between the two PGA Tour events.

Rogue was the #1 Driver Shaft Brand Model at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and at the Barracuda Championship making it 18 consecutive events that Rogue has won the driver shaft brand model count on the PGA Tour.

Between the Rogue, the Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts, Aldila also had the top two wood shaft brand models at the WGC-Bridgestone and the top 3 wood shaft brand models in play at the Barracuda Championship, according to the Darrell Survey.

The Rogue and Tour Blue 65 shafts were the top two driver shaft brand models in play at the Stonebrae Classic. There were more than two times as many Rogue shafts in play than the next leading shaft brand model. Combined with a total of 72 Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts in play, “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” also won the wood shaft manufacturer count on the Web.com Tour.

“The Rogue shaft is built on Aldila’s ultra-successful new “Tour” platform using the same tapered tooling and Next Gen Micro-Laminate Technology™ that provide the exceptional performance of the #1 shaft model on Tour – Aldila’s Tour Green and Tour Blue,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology is comprised of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials. This design evolution eliminates inconsistent shaft performance caused by material variability. Redesigned tooling also raises the shaft balance point, making this the perfect upgrade for today’s modern club head designs.”

According to Oldenburg, by incorporating this new material, Aldila is able to make the shaft stiffer and lower torque without adding weight. At the same time, the placement of the material in top third of the shaft (grip end) allows the shaft manufacturer to slightly counterbalance the shaft to work well with today’s heavier driver heads and the longer length of modern drivers.

To celebrate the Rogue’s one-year anniversary on the Tour, Aldila has released limited edition “tour authentic” Rogue shafts made with the same exotic materials as the Tour models. The limited edition shafts will be made in the USA at Aldila’s Research & Development facility in Poway, California and will be serialized with laser customization available to personalize each shaft. The limited edition Rogue shafts are available for consumers now through select distributors with a suggested retail price of $799.
