Nine seminars scheduled through the end of 2014
NORCROSS, Ga. – The U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach program for the fall will feature nine seminars in eight states, beginning Sept. 10 in Cleveland, Ohio. Attended by more than 1400 PGA and LPGA professionals since the program began in 2012, USKG Certified Coach Seminars enhance an instructor’s knowledge of youth golf and provide tools that can be used to improve youth golf programs.
The day-long seminars are led by John Godwin, PGA Master Professional and 2004 PGA of America National Junior Golf Leader, and John Bryan, Vice President of U.S. Kids Golf Foundation and former Executive Director of the Georgia PGA. During the seminars, Bryan and Godwin focus on best practices that help develop young golfers. These include the introduction of game-based instruction, the importance of properly fit equipment in swing development and distance, and how to scale the game for the beginning golfer.
Both PGA of America and LPGA Professionals earn continuing education credits for their participation in the seminars. Additional credits may be earned by completing the Positive Coaches Alliance test, which is a follow-up component of the Seminar.
