Prototype SuperStroke Tour grip player finish 3rd in Putts Per Greens in Regulation, 6th in Strokes Gained-Putting
WIXOM, Mich. – With the help of SuperStroke, two players finished in the top 10 and four finished in the top 15 at the season’s final major championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Using SuperStroke’s Tour Prototype grip, a top five player finished the tournament third in Putts Per Greens In Regulation with a 1.587 total and finished sixth in Strokes Gained-Putting with a 1.698 total. The Strokes Gained-Putting statistic measures a player’s putting performance relative to his fellow competitors in a tournament.
SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra putter grip helped one of the 15th place players finish tied for 8th in Strokes Gained-Putting with a 1.640 total. Another 15th place finisher used the Ultra Slim 1.0 putter grip to finish 10th in Strokes Gained-Putting with a 1.286 tournament total
For the season, the third place player in Strokes Gained-Putting on the tour plays SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra and has an average of .880 with a total of 49.258 putts gained in 83 rounds of competition. Jordan Spieth, who also plays the Flatso Ultra, ranks second on the tour in Overall Putting Average with a 1.552 average for 86 rounds.
At the professional tour event at the Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield, Missouri, a seventh place finisher ended the tournament ranked fourth in Putts Per GIR with a 1.643 total using SuperStroke’s Mid Slim 2.0 putter grip. A 17th place player finished the tournament ranked 8th in Putts Per GIR with a 1.678 total using SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra grip.
The Flatso line features SuperStroke’s unique patented parallel shape and a new patent pending pentagonal shape and flat top design. The parallel technology allows for even pressure in both hands, while eliminating added tension in the wrist and forearms. This helps the golfer’s arms swing more freely, which further enhances a pendulum-putting stroke.
“The characteristics of the Flatso line inhibit wrist action and promote shoulder rotation for added consistency in your putting stroke,” said Jon Luna, SuperStroke USA Marketing Director. “The pentagonal shape allows players looking for the feel of a pistol grip an option in the SuperStroke line.”
