The Northern California Section of the PGA of America has awarded Tom Morton, PGA with their 2014 Player Development Award of the Year Award. Morton, one of the owners of Morton Golf, has been on staff at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento since his early youth.
The Player Development Award is awarded to a PGA professional for their extraordinary and exemplary contributions to player development and promotion of the game.
“To be given the Northern California Player Development Award for the second time in two years is an incredible honor,” Morton revealed. “I believe in my core that Player Development, on both junior and adult levels, is the center of what we should be doing as PGA professionals.”
Mike Woods, director of golf at Haggin Oaks, remarked, “Tom has distinguished himself among all of the PGA professionals in Northern California. We are very proud of his accomplishments both here at Haggin Oaks and across the country.”
Morton concluded, “I am very proud of the entire Haggin Oaks team that works tirelessly at growing the game and improving our community through golf. I share this wonderful award with them.”
