In another milestone development, CMAA-Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (CMAA-Asia) inked a memorandum of understanding today in Singapore which essentially paves the way for the club industry in the Southeast Asia region to have access to quality training and education in the hospitality field.

The latest partner is the SDH Institute headquartered in Singapore.

Commenting on the new partnership, Lawrence Young, CMAA-Asia’s director of education said, “SDH Institute is a forward looking school with a clear focus on hospitality education which strives to develop its students in a holistic manner and this is the main reason for us to ally ourselves with SDH and through this alliance, we expect to deliver quality training and education to the club industry in the region.”

SDH’s programmes not only equip its students with the professional and business knowledge and skills for the global hospitality industry, but also aim to inculcate an attitude of service excellence and entrepreneurship.

According to Chia Tuck Keong, managing director of SDH, “Our comprehensive range of Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Post-Graduate, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and professional learning programmes, unique learning approach and caring student support, create a truly distinctive educational experience which we believe will stand to benefit all those engaged in the club industry in the region.”

SDH specialises in hospitality education. Apart from hospitality programmes, it also offers programmes in events management and casino management.

With a strong presence in the hospitality industry, SDH has powerful industry linkages with leading hotel chains, integrated resorts as well as top food and beverage establishments.

“With the formalisation of this agreement, CMAA-Asia will be able to fulfil its mission objective to help upgrade the human capital employed in the club industry in the region,” added Murali Nair, executive director of SDH Institute.
