Tinley Park, Illinois, September 5, 2014- Bettinardi Golf, maker of the world’s finest milled putters, took first-place at the Shaw Charity Classic on the Champions Tour this past weekend and assisted the winner to set a new course record 61 in the event.
The winner trusted his FC Prototype putter for his 2nd Champions Tour win of 2014, and 3rd victory since switching to his Bettinardi putter last fall. The Shaw Charity Classic Champion ranks 6th on the Tour in putting average with 1.73 putts per round, ranks 2nd in birdies, 1st in eagles, and has a scoring average of 69.0 strokes per round which puts him in 3rd on the tour. This was the 1992 Masters Champion’s 11th victory on the Champions Tour, and 63rd overall professional victory.
“The Shaw Classic winner continues to shine with his FC Prototype putter, a blade model we designed specifically for him last fall,” says Bob Bettinardi, President and CEO of Bettinardi Golf. “This model features our F.I.T. (Feel-Impact-Technology) Face which removes about 55% of the material from the face during the milling process, resulting in an incredibly soft feel at impact. All of our tour players love this face milling including Bettinardi staffer Matt Kuchar.”
