Blythewood, S.C. (September 12, 2014) -The golf community of Cobblestone Park, located just outside Columbia, S.C., has put the finishing touches on its national-class amenity offerings with the unveiling of a stunning new 28,000 sq. ft. community clubhouse.
The announcement was made by D.R. Horton’s Carolina division, which acquired Cobblestone Park in 2012 and commenced a two-year enhancement program that touched all facets of the community, culminating with the completion of the new clubhouse this summer.
According to Mark O’Brien, D.R. Horton’s Carolina division sales and marketing manager, “The clubhouse now serves as the centerpiece of the Cobblestone lifestyle, and its completion punctuates the vision, stability and future of the community for residents and prospective home buyers for years to come.”
The three-story Colonial Revival clubhouse is perched on a ridge overlooking the dramatic finishing holes of the community’s 27-hole golf club, which meander around a series of ponds accented by fountains and a waterfall. Interior design was provided by Maryland-based Builders Design, and is described as current traditional aesthetic using various textures, wood tones, and shades of green, which coordinate and enhance the views of the golf course.
The main level includes a restaurant and bar, double-sided fireplace with comfortable lounge furniture, spacious banquet room complete with AV capabilities, and administrative offices. Additionally, the wide veranda that wraps around the main level is a perfect place to dine or just enjoy a beverage while watching golfers finish the beautiful 18th hole.
The top floor of the clubhouse features a smaller board room space that can be used for business meetings or intimate private dinners. There also are bride’s and groom’s wedding suites. The lower level houses a well-stocked golf shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges with large screen TV’s, and storage for the club’s golf cart fleet. While Cobblestone Park is a gated community, the new clubhouse is fully accessible to the public as a premier special events, dining and golf destination.
“We feel that Blythewood and Columbia have a marvelous new venue for weddings, family reunions, meetings or just a night out on the town at the restaurant,” said Cobblestone Park general manager, Tom Graber.
Events at the clubhouse also should expose more local people to the community’s award-winning golf course. Ranked one of the Top 50 courses in South Carolina, the Cobblestone Park Golf Club boasts three nine-hole layouts named Garnet, Black and Gold for the colors of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Cobblestone is the home course and practice facility for the USC men’s and women’s golf teams.
The new clubhouse will be managed by Mosaic Clubs & Resorts, a nationally acclaimed Atlanta-based management company who has overseen club operations at Cobblestone Park for the last four years.
Additional club amenities at the community include a state-of-the-art fitness center, resort-style pool, lighted tennis courts, sports field, miles of walking and biking trails and a full-size gymnasium with volleyball and basketball courts.
