(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) – Tom Hoch – a leader in integrated design and build solutions – has been selected to for a major renovation masterplan to the historic Wichita Country Club (Wichita, Kan.)
Opening its doors in 1900, Wichita Country Club is the longest-running private club in Kansas, offering 18 scenic holes designed by William H. Diddel, world-class tennis, fitness and swimming facilities.
The Hoch-led clubhouse renovation will seamlessly meld the club’s 19th century legacy with 21st century services and amenities, including a state-of-the-art bowling alley and game room; an open kitchen, wood-fired pizza oven and totally revamped menu, an adult-only bar and lounge area for relaxation and socializing; expanded and enhanced banquet and social areas for a wide-variety of events; and a new resort-style swimming pool and recreation area for “kids of all ages.”
“As an Oklahoma native, Tom Hoch understands our collective values and has a deep appreciation for our goals and objectives for this project,” says Cary Cozby, chief executive officer/head golf professional at Wichita Country Club. “The firm’s track record of revitalizing private facilities and creating revenue-generating spaces set it apart from others in the category.”
“We are honored to work with Cary and the members of Wichita Country Club to help reposition it as the social hub of Wichita,” says Hoch. “There is so much history and success to build upon, and the staff has been incredibly supportive.”
Hoch has revolutionized the category via “revenue-based design,” a space planning, sizing and mapping process for retail spaces such as golf shops and food-and-beverage operations. The proprietary methodology can be applied to new construction, and is particularly effective with cost-sensitive remodeling projects. It is scalable to any size space in a wide variety of industries.
The firm recently launched an in-house, 3D imaging studio to further bolster its category-leading technology platform This technology offers clients the ability to conceptualize multiple alternatives before selecting a final plan via “photo real imaging.” A value-added component saving both time and money, projects are fast-tracked for while maximizing stakeholder input for the desired result.
Other high-profile U.S. and international Tom Hoch projects include: Marriott’s Camelback Mountain (Scottsdale, Ariz.); Slammer and Squire at World Golf Village (St. Augustine, Fla.); The Rookery at Marco (Marco Island, Fla.); The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain (Marana, Ariz.); The Members’ Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota (Fla.); Renaissance Golf Club (Mass.); TPC Valencia (Calif.); Bentwood Country Club (Texas) Zavidovo Golf and Lake Resort (Russia); and Tulsa Country Club (Okla).
