CHICAGO, IL, SEPTEMBER 16, 2014: OBAN is celebrating its second consecutive PGA Tour victory as the FedEx Cup champion, and winner of the Tour Championship 2014, played two Kiyoshi Black shafts to finish the tournament with a 3 shot lead at 11 under par. The champion, armed with 75 gram X flex shafts in his Ping G25 3-wood and 5-wood, fired a 2 under par 68 on Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for the win.
“The performance we continue to see on Tour with the Kiyoshi Black shaft speaks for itself, as evidenced by the FedEx Cup champion using two Kiyoshi Blacks in his arsenal of woods,” commented Ralph Reichert, OBAN’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We congratulations all the players, including this week’s champion, who have played OBAN shafts throughout the year.”
OBAN’s Kiyoshi Black was designed using a straight taper profile. The shaft utilizes OBAN’s exclusive Emersion Wrapped Frequency (EWF) Technology, a lower torque, and extra stiffness in the butt section of the shaft to offer a low spin and a mid-launch trajectory.
