Former Red Cross employee brings programs to Boise community schools and golf facilities impacting youth
Boise, ID – TGA Premier Junior Golf, the leading golf industry model to create and bring new golfers ages 3-13 and 25-45 into the sport has established its first chapter in Idaho.
Todd Loveland, a former Red Cross employee, computer specialist and competitive amateur golfer has acquired the geographic rights to the southwest Boise area, and plans to bring the after-school golf programs to Ada County.
Loveland has been around golf since his youth and developed his passion for the sport while in high school working in the bag room at the local Hillcrest Country Club. He enhanced that passion while playing on the golf team for Iowa’s Saint Ambrose College.
During his career in the computer industry and while working for the Red Cross as a compliance officer, Loveland dreamed of starting his own business and getting out from behind a desk. TGA gives him the opportunity to work in the golf industry impacting youth and developing new players and families for the future.
“Through TGA’s proven model and program, I am grateful to take my passion for golf and coaching to the next level,” Loveland said. “Combine that with running my own business and TGA has provided me with an impressive career opportunity through their value-driven approach to grow golf in my community.”
TGA (Teach, Grow, Achieve) was developed over 10 years ago as a model to target all demographics while concentrating on households with incomes greater than $50,000, which accounts for 80% of the junior golfers in America. With 41 million kids ages 5-18 in the U.S., only 6% of them currently play golf. TGA is focusing on the 94% that don’t play golf along with their parents ages 25-45 (new millennials). Today, TGA has brought over 220,000 juniors into golf while making golf available to 1.3 million young families nationwide.
“We are thrilled to see our model continue to grow and expand into Idaho,” Joshua Jacobs, TGA’s founder and CEO said. “TGA programs in Ada County will not only increase participation but drive revenue and rounds to facilities while bringing thousands of new players and potential clients to PGA and LPGA Professionals.”
TGA’s five-level golf enrichment program enables children to advance from one stage to the next while building confidence and self-esteem. The unique curriculum is designed to enrich the lives of students through physical activity, health and character building. The program also incorporates academic lessons in math, science, social studies and language.
TGA Premier Junior Golf of Boise will impact thousands of youth annually by introducing the game at elementary and middle schools, child care centers and community organizations. TGA transitions students and families from schools and community centers to local golf courses through camps, festivals, play days and parent-junior events creating new golfers and generating revenue and rounds for golf facilities.
