NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (October 27, 2014) – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine™, is accepting applications for “World’s Top 100 ClubFitters” for 2015. Each year KZG honors 100 professionals possessing superior skill, integrity and passion for clubfitting. This will be the tenth year in a row KZG has honored the elite of the industry’s clubfitters.
“More than ever, custom clubfitting is critical to our industry” reports Jennifer King, President of KZG. “The game is shrinking. Nine out of ten golfers are playing with ill-fitting clubs. Teaching professionals admit they can’t teach around ill-fitting clubs. Golfers get frustrated when they can’t improve, and then leave the game.”
“Many in our industry are focused on GROWING THE GAME. Yet the easiest path to growing the game is giving golfers clubs that they can actually play; clubs that can help them improve and enjoy their game. Unfortunately, looking for a qualified fitter is like looking for a needle in a haystack” says Dr. King. “There are very few truly skilled custom club fitters, and even fewer custom club builders.”
Last year’s Top 100 honorees represented 21 countries around the world. 35 winners were from the UK/Europe, 39 from the United States, 10 from Canada, 8 from Asia and 8 from Australia. The top fitters came from a wide spectrum of golf venues, ranging from large performance centers with multiple fitters and instructors to small rural custom shops. All shared a passion in helping golfers.
An independent panel of industry experts will determine the criteria necessary to be considered a top clubfitting professional. Criteria include knowledge of clubhead and shaft design; proficiency in use of launch monitors, frequency analyzers and other fitting equipment; understanding of swing dynamics; ability to analyze swing data; the ability to test and analyze the correct club head and shaft specifications for any given golfer; integrity in insisting on providing golfers with what they need for a better game, and lastly the ability to test and confirm that the specs were adhered to in the final build of the custom clubs.
From the criteria submitted, a point system is put into place to grade each application. The panel has included Clay Long, renowned club designer and personal fitter for Jack Nicklaus; Gene Parente, president of Golf Laboratories, Inc.; Dr. Jennifer King, KZG’s President; and Dr. Christian Reichardt, author and doctor of sports medicine and fitness.
To request a Top 100 Application, professional fitters can contact Ryan Huddleston at rhuddleston@kzgolf.com, or (818) 762-3495, Extension 123. Deadline for filing applications is November 30, 2014. Honorees will be named in January 2015.
