First on the agenda is the Magnolia Bluffs Casino Beau Pre Bayou Bash. This special 60 player field event will be held November 3rd through 7th at Beau Pre Country Club in Natchez, Miss., the home site to the SwingThought.com Tour Magnolia Bluffs Casino Classic. On Monday professionals will be able to play practice rounds and then take part in a casual atmosphere player welcoming party at the course. All players will then be invited to the Tuesday evening pairings party at the Magnolia Bluffs Casino. Wednesday offer players the chance to compete in the sponsor’s pro-am where the professionals will each earn $100 for their participation. Lunch will be served complimentary to the professionals throughout the week in addition to the dinners for all the professionals Monday through Wednesday. The town of Natchez has also been generous enough to supply complimentary housing for all participants. Entry for all participants is $800, member or nonmember, and players may sign up by contacting the SwingThought.com Tour offices. This event conveniently takes place the same week as the Sanderson Farms Championship just a short drive over from Jackson, Miss. allowing professionals who are unable to play their way into the PGA TOUR event an alternative place to place.
Next up for the SwingThought.com Tour will be the November 10-12 $40,000 minimum GUARANTEED PURSE event at Shingle Creek Resort & Golf Club in Orlando. This special Guaranteed Purse event is open to members at $800 entry and nonmembers at $1,100. Players may still join the SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series for $500 to take advantage this and the many discounts left for the remainder of the season. Shingle Creek Golf Club is one of the favorite stops of SwingThought.com Tour professionals and fans alike and has become a mainstay annually on the Winter Series’ schedule. Alumni Update: 2010-12 member Robert Streb out of Edmund, Okla., won the 2014 McGladrey Classic by besting fellow alums Brendon de Jonge and former Player of the Year Will MacKenzie. MacKenzie was eliminated on the first hole while de Jonge was eliminated on the 2nd. It was the first PGA TOUR victory for the rookie out of Kansas State who also managed a win on the Web.com Tour. Although he never managed a win, Streb was known as one of the longest hitters on the SwingThought.com Tour (formerly the NGA/Hooters Tour) during his career on the nation’s number three tour. Also of note Tony Finau, who finished runner up earlier this season at the SwingThought.com Tour Seneca event finished T14 at the McGladrey. 2013 SwingThought.com Tour Player of the Year Jon Curran finished T54 less than a year removed from the nation’s number three tour along with Patton Kizzire, who currently sits 2nd on the 2014 SwingThought.com Tour money list. Kizzire played his way into the event in shootout fashion besting 3 other Auburn alums to earn his spot into the event. 2014 SwingThought.com Tour member Justin Lower, who earned his way into the event by way of the Monday qualifier, failed to make the cut. Lower was one shot away from the cut line along with the 2013 SwingThought.com Tour Rookie of the Year Blayne Barber and 2012 SwingThought.com Tour co-Rookie of the Year Jonathan Randolph. The win by Streb gives SwingThought.com Tour alumni back to back wins with 2010 member Ben Martin winning the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
