CARLSBAD, Calif. (October 27, 2014) – Three players who finished among the top four Sunday (Oct. 26) at The McGladrey Classic -including two who competed in a sudden death playoff – utilized Nippon Shaft in their irons.

Finishing at 14-under par in regulation play was the 34-year-old veteran tour pro from Zimbabwe, who used N.S. PRO PROTO ORA steel shafts in his irons. He qualified for the playoff thanks to a 5-under par 65 at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Resort.

Also qualifying for the playoff at 14-under in regulation was the 40-year-old outdoors enthusiast from North Carolina, who used N.S. PRO PROTO ST steel shafts in his irons. He also used N.S. PRO PROTO WV 125s steel shafts in his wedges.

Meanwhile, a final round 65 boosted the 30-year-old South Carolinian and Web.com Tour graduate into a tie for fourth at 12-under par. He used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 steel shafts in his irons and the N.S. PRO PROTO WV125s in his wedges.

“Nippon Shaft is extremely proud to be able to provide a variety of high quality steel shafts for both irons and wedges that players from all over the world use to compete on all major professional tours,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for the Japanese club maker. “These outstanding shaft products have been developed with input from the best players in the world, and we believe we have answered their needs.”

Nippon Shaft long has been the most popular steel shaft on the LPGA Tour, thanks to its ability to manufacture a shaft that combines light weight and sturdiness, which ensures maximum control.

In recent years, Nippon Shaft has successfully expanded its product line to include shafts designed for PGA TOUR professionals and low-handicap amateurs, adhering to the same stringent quality standards that have been the hallmark of its brand.

Over the years, Nippon Shaft recorded hundreds of victories on professional golf tours worldwide, as the best players in the world increasingly chose to install in their irons steel shafts manufactured in Japan to unparalleled quality standards.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. In addition, Nippon Shaft products are available through Nippon Shaft’s dedicated global club fitter network. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com

Nippon Shaft manufactures all of its steel and graphite shafts in a state-of-the-art factory in Komagane, Japan. The company’s integrated production lines are strictly monitored and controlled with thorough checks conducted responsibly through the entire production process. As a result, Nippon Shaft is able to control high product quality – from material selection to final testing.

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia. Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
