BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, delivered Top 10s at the 2014 World Golf Championships – HSBC Champions event on the PGA Tour this weekend. Players with Aerotech’s SteelFiber i95 graphite shafts in their irons claimed second-place and a 10-place tie at the WGC event held in Shanghai, China.
The HSBC runner-up shot an 11-under par – 69-70-69-69 (277) – to force a sudden death playoff with SteelFiber i95 graphite shafts in his irons.
“We’re very excited about the strong presence that SteelFiber graphite iron shafts have on the world tours. Week after week, golfers of all skill levels are discovered the performance benefits of playing graphite shafts in their irons,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “SteelFiber is specifically designed to provide greater vibration dampening and reduce player fatigue, while at the same time delivering stability and increased distance. Today, SteelFiber composite technology is a real game-changer.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
SteelFiber has had a record breaking year so far in 2014 with seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. In 2013, SteelFiber chalked up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts also ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
