Volvik is on a roll entering the CME Tour Championship, the last LPGA Tour event of the 2014 season. Pornanong Phatlum finished T6th at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico this weekend playing Volvik S3 golf balls, giving Volvik staff players one win, 14 Top 10’s and 21 Top 25 finishes in the last seven LPGA Tour events.

Volvik ranked as the 2nd most played golf ball manufacturer at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational this week, the 14th time they have finished #3 or higher in an LPGA Tour event this season.

The Volvik S3 golf ball, which was a winner on the LPGA Tour for the first time two weeks ago in the victory by Mi Hyang Lee at the Mizuno Classic, ranked as the third most played golf ball model in Mexico this week on the LPGA Tour for the 10th time this season.

Headed into the season-ending CME Championship in Naples, FL this week, Volvik has five staff players ranked in the Top 30 of the LPGA Tour Race to the CME Globe rankings. The Race to the CME Globe is the new season-long points competition that will pay the player who has accumulated the most points with a $1 million unofficial money payout.

Volvik Staff Players in the CME Race to the Globe Standings Entering the CME Tour Championship: #8 Chella Choi (Orange), #22 Pornanong Phatlum (Pink), #25 Mi Hyang Lee (Orange), #27 Meena Lee (Orange), #29 Ilhee Lee (Yellow)

The CME Group Tour Championship field consists of the Top 72 LPGA players and those tied for 72nd on the Race to the CME Globe Points Standings, ranked in the order of their position on the standings at the conclusion of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

Players are seeded based on their position on the Race to the CME Globe Points Standings. Points for each player will then be reset for the CME Tour Championship, ensuring that the race will be won at the season-ending tournament. Reset points will give the year’s top performers an advantage heading into the Tour Championship, but they will not guarantee any player the Race to the CME Globe victory.

After the reset, the players in the Top 3 positions on the Race to the CME Globe Points Standings will be able to win the Race to the CME Globe with a win at the Tour Championship and the players in the Top 9 positions will have a mathematical chance to win the race based on various scenarios.

LPGA Members finishing in the top 40 and ties at the Tour Championship will receive Race to the CME Globe points and the winner of the CME Tour Championship will receive 3,500 points.

At the conclusion of the CME Tour Championship, the points each player earns at the Tour Championship will be added to her reset points. The player with the highest point total will be named the winner of the Race to the CME Globe.

The purse payout for the CME Race to the Globe is $1 Million for 1st, $150,000 for 2nd and $100,000 for 3rd.
