November 7, 2014 Pinehurst, N.C. – Co-founder Paul Wold retiring after 7 years of commitment to Donald Ross and many years servicing the golf industry. Below, Paul offers a letter reflecting on his career.

“As many of you know I will be retiring at the end of the year. I would like to thank each and every one of you for contributing to such a wonderful and fulfilling career.

I am extremely proud of being a co-founder of Donald Ross Sportswear. I am proud of what we have achieved…the product we offer, the service we provide and the people that make it happen. I can’t help but remember starting with a blank piece of paper in 2007 and then launching of the brand at the 2009 PGA show. The economy was in the toilet and Rob and I had a 10-foot table in the back row of the Orlando Convention Center. The business has come a long way since then.

I have worked in virtually every retail channel of distribution and there is nothing like the golf industry. I feel so fortunate to have worked in our industry…the best people, the best clubs and organizations! I feel so blessed to have worked at Donald Ross, Hugo Boss Golf, Bobby Jones and Bull Thistle.

I love everything about the game of golf! The history, the ethic’s, camaraderie, the architecture and have been fortunate to be a member at The Country Club of Rochester{1895}, serving as a member of the board of stewards, green chairman, chairman of the golf course restoration {Donald Ross design 1913} and the golf historian.

I will miss the many personal and professional relationships developed over the last 25 years. To my partner, Rob Stein, our investors, employee’s, sales rep’s, PGA pro’s, merchandisers and industry friends …Thank you!
