VACAVILLE, Calif. – The Northern California Section of the PGA is pleased to announce that Emmy Moore Minister of the Moore Minister Media Consulting Group has been selected as the 2014 NCPGA Sports Media Person of the Year. She is being recognized for her support and coverage of local Golf Professionals and initiatives.
“My work focuses on the betterment of the game and business of golf. And by remaining true to this purpose, often it shines a positive light on the NCPGA Section, its members, apprentices, and staff and the amazing work they are doing at their facilities, within the golf industry, and in their communities,” said Moore Minister.
She promotes NCPGA Section members and events through multiple mediums including print, radio, TV, and in recent times through social media platforms. Currently, Moore Minister maintains two Twitter accounts and assists with 12 Facebook pages. The Facebook pages focus on multiple topics including Doctors Orders: Play Golf, California Golf Course Owners Association, Symposium on Affordable Golf, Women in the Golf Industry, The Nor Cal Golf Rep Association, and The California Alliance for Golf. In addition, there is a general golf Facebook news page entitled, “Golf Media Library,” which allows her to report on a variety of timely topics within the industry.
Heavily involved in the golf industry, Moore Minister is an Honorary Member of the Northern California PGA as well as serves on many boards and committees. Her roles include the Board of Directors for the California Alliance for Golf (CAG), Chair of the Communications Committee for CAG, Planning Committee Member for the Symposium on Affordable Golf, Advisory Board Member and Chair of the Communications and Awards Committees for the California Golf Course Owners Association, Board Member for Women in the Golf Industry, show producer for the annual Northern California Golf Reps Show, and founder of Doctors Orders: Play Golf, a public health education initiative.
“Emmy is integrated into the golf community and industry,” said NCPGA Awards Chairman Mark Naylor, PGA. “She not only helps promote the good works of our PGA Professionals and apprentices, but also affects positive change in the industry through her own contributions.”
Moore Minister is among 19 recipients of the NCPGA’s 2014 Annual Section Awards. Section awards are given to PGA Professionals and industry leaders who have excelled in the game and business of golf. The NCPGA will recognize its 2014 Annual Section Award winners on Sunday, December 7 at the NCPGA Special Awards Ceremony & President’s Dinner at Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, California. This event, a highlight for the year, will be held the evening prior to the NCPGA Annual Meeting. There are more than 200 golf professionals and industry leaders expected to attend.
