Leads field in Putts Per Greens In Regulation, moves to 9th in the world
WIXOM, Mich. – Jordan Spieth used SuperStroke’s Flatso Ultra putter grip to help dominate the field at the Hero World Challenge and capture his third professional career win. He followed up his six-stroke victory at the Australian Open the week before by winning the World Challenge by a tournament record 10 strokes. The back-to-back victories helped Spieth move into the top 10 in the Official World Ranking at 9. He also led the field in Putts Per Greens In Regulation with an average of 1.483.
Spieth built a three-day seven shot lead then extended it with impressive putting during the final round on the challenging green complexes of Isleworth Golf & Country Club. He birdied the first hole on Sunday going three under through four holes, made a 15-footer for eagle on the 7th and closed out the tournament with two birdies over the last four holes.
“This type of Bermuda, I felt really confident with the way I read them,” he said. “I feel like that’s maybe my biggest strength in all of my golf game is reading Bermuda greens. These greens (are the) same TifEagle, same slope, same size that I played on every day from age 9 to 16. So I think it was being confident in my reads and putting the right stroke on it.”
