BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, chalked up two more Top 10’s this week, scoring a T8 finish at the Hero World Challenge in Florida and a T7 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa.
At the World Hero Challenge on the PGA Tour, the 2012 Players Championship winner played SteelFiber i95 graphite shafts in his Bridgestone irons to score as high as 88.89 percent greens in regulation and grab a share of eighth-place.
While at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, three-time European Tour champion collected a T7 finish playing also SteelFiber i95 graphite iron shafts.
“This has been a record-breaking year for SteelFiber shafts, and we’re excited to see the growing impact these shafts are having on the professional tours around the world,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “By incorporating high-modulus graphite and micro-thin steel fibers, SteelFiber shafts are specifically designed to provide greater vibration dampening and reduce player fatigue, while at the same time allowing players to increase yardage and maintain a low penetrating ball flight that they may have had with steel shafts.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
So far in 2014, SteelFiber shafts have delivered seven wins – three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. In 2013, SteelFiber chalked up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts also ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
