Portland, Ore. (December 15, 2014) – Golf Media Network (GMN), publisher of electronic golf magazine The Grain is sending holiday gifts to more than 35 state, local, and provincial (Canadian) golf associations of the kind that is appreciated most: money. The pioneering media company has distributed $80,000 to partner associations that helped grow The Grain into the world’s largest electronic golf publication. With the assistance of its partners, Golf Media Network delivers The Grain to the in-boxes of 1.8 million golfers worldwide.
Managing Partner and Executive Editor Jeff Wallach says, “When we started this publication as a modest website three years ago we committed to sharing our revenues with the golf associations who would help us grow. In keeping with our promise, and in the spirit of true partnership, this year we wrote substantial checks to help our partner associations with their own crucial efforts on behalf of golf.
“We know that the audience our golf associations bring to The Grain is the purest in our sport- consisting of aficionados who pay to join their association, who play golf, travel for golf, buy equipment, and spend money to enjoy the golf lifestyle. We also know this is a coveted demographic for advertisers, so in return for providing access to this audience we’re thrilled to make payments twice each year to our association partners as a small way of saying thanks. Of course, that’s in addition to delivering fun, eclectic golf content to their members as an added benefit of their membership.”
GMN’s partners received twice as much money in 2014 as they did the previous year, and 2015 is already shaping up to be The Grain’s biggest year yet, with seven editions covering the four Majors, The Presidents Cup, Equipment, and Travel. New features and formats will deliver fresh, irreverent content from the best writers, photographers, videographers, and art directors in golf.
