Included in the two-night minimum stay are:
• Club Suite accommodations
• One round of golf per day, with shared cart, on either El Campeon or Las Colinas course
• Buffet breakfast following each night’s stay
• One $50 dinner credit per night’s stay
• Advance tee times (non-golfer in the package gets spa credit)
• One $50 pro-shop credit
• Range balls

• Special commemorative gift
The price starts at $325 per person per night from January through April 8, based on double occupancy, and adjusts seasonally throughout the year to as low as $238 per person per night. Prices are also available for single- and triple-occupancy packages and based on a two-night minimum.
El Campeon and Mission Inn trace their beginnings back to 1917. That year, the course was laid out by George O’Neil, one of America’s first native golf professionals and course architects. It was part of the original hotel complex built by William “Bill” Howey, who tried developing that part of central Florida for land sales.
After a fire destroyed almost everything in 1920, a new hotel was built and the golf course renovated by Captain Charles E. Clarke, a native of Troon, Scotland. By the time of its reopening, the course was being declared “the sportiest in Florida.”
Renamed “El Campeon” in 1992, the course today still closely resembles how it was 80 years ago, as its host of modern-day awards and accolades prove. It is also one of the oldest courses on the newly formed golf trail. Las Colinas, designed by Gary Koch and renovated by Ron Garl, opened in 1992.
The resort is already making plans for a grand 100th anniversary celebration in 2017. For more information on the Florida Golf Trail, check out www.floridahistoricgolftrail.com.
