Arm-Lock Converter Grip To Be On Display At 2015 PGA Merchandise Show In Orlando

CHICAGO, IL (December 19, 2014) – Ed Klein has been using a long putter since the 1980s, and like many golfers it has helped him improve his short putts. In fact, anchored putters and belly putters have become more popular among professionals on tour in recent years, including champions Ernie Els, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson and Keegan Bradley. Some say the long putters saved their careers.

But the USGA and Royal and Ancient (R&A) Golf Club both announced starting January 1, 2016, anchoring the club against the body will no longer be conforming to the Rules of Golf. This has caused much controversy and heartache in the golf community as many players depend upon the anchoring of the putter to help their game.

“I believe anchored putters have kept many golfers interested in the game. If it wasn’t for the longer broomstick-style or belly putters, many golfers would have quit the sport years ago,” said Klein.

That’s where the new Arm-Lock putter grip comes into play.

Klein and his golf pro, Ronnie Espedal of Ocean Shores, WA, who regularly uses a belly putter, were speaking one day about the new ruling. The two began experimenting on the putting green and decided to put together a prototype for a new grip and thus was the start of a new company, Arm-Lock Golf.

“Our first model was good but not perfect. I woke up one morning and realized what needed to be changed. Instead of the shaft going right through the middle of the grip, we decided to use an angled grip,” said Klein. “Essentially, the Arm-Lock Golf Converter Putter Grip is a grip that will convert any putter into an Arm-Lock putter.”

The Arm-Lock grip can be installed on your current putter, and will be of particular interest to belly-anchored putters and to those wanting to improve their short putts. The product will retail at $29.95.

“We have developed and received approval from the U.S.G.A. for this revolutionary grip and style of putting, said Klein. “The Arm-Lock putter grip allows golfers to convert their current putter into a legal arm-lock putter.”

The Arm-Lock grip enables the golfer to take his current putter, whether it is a long “broomstick” putter, “belly” putter or “standard” putter and apply the Arm-Lock grip to it without any modifications to the loft of the putter. Only the putter length should be modified.

The Arm-Lock converter grip will be unveiled at the PGA Merchandise Show next month in Orlando.

Attendees at the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando will have the opportunity to test the Arm-Lock putter grip by visiting booth # 1612, or at the Players Turf putting green. The Arm-Lock putter grip will also be on display in the new product area of the show.
